Democrats Make Dangerous Move Against Trump

Democrats no longer hide that they will do anything to prevent former President Donald Trump from winning the White House in November. Their next move to stop the former president will effectively put him in danger of being murdered.

With Trump facing a criminal trial that many legal experts say has been engineered to make him lose, Democrats are now making moves to take away his Secret Service protection should the former president be found guilty.

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), who led the infamous January 6 Committee, announced a bill that will deny the former president’s secret service protection if he is found guilty in any of the four criminal indictments he faces.

The bill —titled the “Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable Former Protectees Act,” or the “DISGRACED Former Protectees Act—-” will deny any Secret Service protectee convicted of federal state crime. However, the punishment for that crime must be an imprisonment term of at least one year before a protectee’s Secret Service protection can be denied.

“Unfortunately, current law doesn’t anticipate how Secret Service protection would impact the felony prison sentence of a protectee — even a former President. It is regrettable that it has come to this, but this previously unthought-of scenario could become our reality,” Thompson said. “Therefore, it is necessary for us to be prepared and update the law so the American people can be assured that protective status does not translate into special treatment — and that those who are sentenced to prison will indeed serve the time required of them.”

While Thompson did not expressly say if his bill targeted Trump, the lawmaker revealed that the former president would be affected by it.

“This measure would apply to former President Trump. It also would apply to all Secret Service protectees convicted and sentenced under felony charges,” Thompson wrote in a fact sheet.

Though Thompson’s bill is most likely to fail in the Republican-controlled House, the law will leave Trump open to violent attack and even a potential murder if he loses his ongoing hush money trial.
