A cafeteria worker from Alabama has admitted to engaging in sexual relations with a student under 19 years old at her residence on two separate occasions, local media outlets report.
Court records obtained by WAAY TV reveal that Amy Nicole Wigginton, 41, an employee of Lauderdale County Schools, acknowledged having intimate encounters with the male student at her Rogersville home on March 7 and March 31.
According to the Daily Mail, Wigginton, who is married with children, brought the young man to her family residence for the illicit encounters.

Law enforcement documents show that when questioned by local authorities, Wigginton immediately admitted to the inappropriate relationship and voluntarily waived her rights during her arrest.
While authorities have not disclosed the student’s specific age, the charges against Wigginton do not include sexual contact with a minor. She faces two counts related to a school employee engaging in sexual acts with a student. In Alabama, the legal age of consent is 16.
“The Lauderdale County Board of Education is aware of the allegations, and the employee has been placed on administrative leave,” district officials stated to WAAY TV. “We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement officials, and have no further comment on this matter.”

Following her arrest last week, Wigginton was detained at the Lauderdale County Jail with bond set at $100,000, according to WAFF.
This incident follows another recent case involving Christina Formella, a married special education teacher in Illinois, who allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old male student. Formella’s March 16 arrest gained attention after footage emerged showing her emotional breakdown upon hearing the charges. The 30-year-old later claimed she was being framed by the victim and targeted due to her appearance.
