A federal judge who previously ordered the Trump administration to halt deportations of criminal illegal aliens mid-flight is now facing scrutiny over significant conflicts of interest within his family.

District Judge James Boasberg, who recently threatened contempt charges against Trump officials for continuing deportations, has connections raising serious questions about his impartiality in immigration cases.

Investigation has revealed that the judge’s brother, Tom Boasberg, while serving as superintendent of Denver Public Schools, employed DACA recipients as teachers. Adding to the controversy, Tom Boasberg also has ties to Covington & Burling, the DC law firm that provided pro bono services worth $140,000 to special counsel Jack Smith. The firm’s employees recently had their security clearances suspended by Trump.

Further complicating matters, the State Department is currently promoting the Singapore American School, where Tom Boasberg now serves as superintendent, despite his history of employing undocumented immigrants.

The revelations don’t stop there. Laura Loomer uncovered that Judge Boasberg’s daughter, Katherine, works for Partners for Justice, an organization opposing both mass incarceration and deportation of illegal immigrants, including those with violent criminal records. The organization receives 76% of its funding through U.S. government grants.

“A review of Tom Boasberg’s professional background reveals he was an associate at Covington & Burling. On February 25, 2025, President Donald J. Trump signed a memorandum to suspend security clearances for Covington & Burling LLP employees involved in the weaponization of government, pending a review of their roles and responsibility in the weaponization of the judicial process.”

These developments emerge as Colorado grapples with the presence of the Tren de Aragua Venezuelan gang, with ICE actively pursuing members reportedly occupying apartment complexes while possessing high-powered weapons.

The situation has prompted calls for Secretary of State Marco Rubio to investigate the State Department’s promotion of Tom Boasberg’s school, with some advocates pushing for Judge Boasberg’s impeachment due to these apparent conflicts of interest.

Adding another layer to the controversy, evidence shows that Katherine Boasberg’s employer at Partners for Justice shared an article about Judge Boasberg’s ruling to block Trump’s deportations of Venezuelan gang members, further highlighting the interconnected nature of these relationships.
