Robert De Niro Stripped Off Award Over Anti-Trump Rant

Oscar-winning Actor Robert De Niro was stripped of his prestigious award by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) following his anti-Trump rant outside the former president’s criminal trial.

The NAB was set to honor De Niro with its prestigious NAB Leadership Foundation’s Service to America Award next week.

However, the association revoked the award after De Niro attended a Biden-Harris press conference and slammed Trump as someone who wants to destroy New York City and the nation.

“While we strongly support the right of every American to exercise free speech and participate in civic engagement, it is clear that Mr. De Niro’s recent high-profile activities will create a distraction from the philanthropic work that we were hoping to recognize,” Alex Siciliano, NAB’s senior vice president of communications said. “To maintain the focus on service of the award winners, De Niro will no longer be attending the event.”

Siciliano also maintained that the NAB event, which is the event for media, technology and entertainment, is proudly bipartisan.

“This event is proudly bipartisan, uniting those from across the political spectrum to celebrate the impactful work of local broadcasters and our partners,” he said. “We look forward to a night of celebration honoring the exceptional work of broadcasters and our partners who make a difference in their communities daily.”

De Niro, the biggest critic of Trump, joined the Biden Campaign last week, arguing that Trump does not belong in New York City.

“I owe this city a lot. And that’s why it’s so weird that Donald Trump is just across the street because he doesn’t belong in my city,” De Niro said.

The actor, referred to as a “washed-up” actor by Trump supporters, described himself as a true New Yorker and slammed the former president for wanting to destroy the city.

Following his rant outside the courthouse, Trump hit back at De Niro in a Truth Social post.

“I never knew how mentally and physically small Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was. Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met outside the courthouse,” Trump wrote.
