Former President Donald Trump on Thursday shared some good news with his supporters concerning the upcoming election.
The former president told his supporters he believes he has a good chance of winning New York in the 2024 election.
“We’re going to run very hard in New York. We have a good chance of winning New York, in my opinion,” Trump said. “We’re going to give it a shot. We’re very close in New York, I understand. We’re leading in the country by a lot. As you saw yesterday, we’re up by a lot in every swing state, so I think we’re going to do very well.”

Trump also revealed that his campaign plans to hold a rally in Madison Square Garden. The event will be held in honor of police officers, firefighters and other first responders in New York City.
“We are going to the south Bronx to do a rally. We are going to be doing a rally at Madison Square Garden, we believe,” Trump said. “I think we are sighting Madison Square Garden to do it. We are going to have a big rally honoring the police and honoring the firemen and everybody. Honoring a lot of people, including teachers. We are honoring teachers. We’ll be honoring the people who make New York work. We’re honoring a lot of people. It will be very exciting.

Earlier this year, Trump told Breitbart News that he would be making an aggressive play for New York voters.
“One of the other things I’m going to do — and I may be foolish in doing it — is I’m going to make a heavy play for New York, heavy play for New Jersey, heavy play for Virginia, heavy play for New Mexico, and a heavy play for a state that hasn’t been won in years, Minnesota,” Trump said in a two-hour interview with the outlet.
The former president added that he is considering renting Madison Square Garden for the occasion.
“I’m going to do rallies, I’m going to do speeches, I’m going to work them,” Trump added. “I may rent Madison Square Garden and that’s the belly of the beast, right?”
According to NBC News York, Madison Garden confirmed this week that it has no rent agreement with Trump.
“We do not have any events scheduled with the Trump organization at this time,” an MSG Entertainment spokesperson said in a statement.
