Trump Gets Standing Ovation At UFC Event

Daily Report June 02,2024

Former President Donald Trump received a standing ovation as he arrived at UFC 302 in Newark, New Jersey. The event marked Trump’s first public appearance since he was found guilty in his hush money trial.

The former president seemed to have fans’ support as the crowd erupted with cheers and applause as he entered the arena.

The crowd cheered and chanted, “We want Trump!” while other fans waved Trump 2024 flags, signaling their support for the former president. Despite the recent conviction on 34 criminal charges, the former president’s fame within the UFC community remains unaffected.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan was left stunned by the fans’ reaction.

“Well, you had a sneaking suspicion that former president Trump would be in the building for UFC 302,” Rogan said. “Boy, the round of applause he’s getting right now is pretty staggering.”

Trump walked into the arena with UFC president Dana White. He also stopped to greet comedian Theo Von. Trump shook the hands of some fans and waved to the crowd.

White, a longtime friend and supporter of Trump, spoke of his relationship with the former president.

“My relationship with Trump is a 20-year relationship. I’ve been friends with this guy for 20 years, and when he shows up to the fights… The guy is a fight fan. He’s been a fight fan,” White said.

Trump sat at the corner of the ring, from where he watched the fight. Saturday night’s card features 12 fights, headlined by lightweight champion Islam Makhachev against Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier.

Trump also used the occasion to launch his official TikTok account. The former president’s first post on the platform was a 13-second video filmed at the UFC event.

At the beginning of the video, Trump is joined by White, who announces, “The president is now on TikTok.”

According to the New York Post, Trump is a massive mixed martial arts fan and frequently attends UFC events where the audience largely loves him.

In March 2024, Trump attended UFC 299 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, and was warmly welcomed by the crowd.
