White House officials responded sharply to Democratic attacks targeting Elon Musk and recent demands for the impeachment of the Department of Government Efficiency Head.

The Democratic response to ongoing government spending audits suggests a mounting effort to prevent DOGE from exposing potential mismanagement of funds and improper practices.

The situation intensified following comments from Democratic Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who made controversial claims about Musk’s role during a television appearance on MSNBC.

“Some people have been actually talking about impeaching President Elon Musk right now on the theory that he’s usurped the powers of the presidency,” Raskin said.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed these assertions during a recent exchange with reporters. When asked about Musk’s supposed presidential authority, Leavitt responded definitively.

“Absolutely not. That’s a ridiculous question,” she stated.

Addressing the broader context of Democratic criticism and Raskin’s impeachment suggestions, Leavitt elaborated on Musk’s actual role within the administration.

“It’s utterly ridiculous. Elon Musk addressed this in the Oval Office yesterday. The President addressed it as well. Elon Musk is serving at the pleasure of the President just like everybody else on this team. He takes directives directly from the President of the United States, and I think some of the comments you referred to are a failed attempt from the media and from Democrats to try to sow division in this White House. We saw them do it in the first term. We’re not going to let them do it in the second term. This is a unified team who is working at the pleasure of the President to do what’s right for the American people.”

The controversy emerges as investigations into USAID and related programs face increased scrutiny, suggesting potential concerns over long-standing financial practices within these institutions.
