Former “Impractical Jokers” star Joe Gatto has firmly denied allegations of sexual assault made against him by a TikTok user, while acknowledging past mistakes in judgment.

In an exclusive statement to Page Six, Gatto addressed the situation directly. “I have used poor judgment and as a result have violated the trust of the people I love most,” he said. “But anyone who knows me at all knows full well that I wouldn’t assault anyone.”

The comedian further stated, “Working on myself is an ongoing process, and I am now going to take some time away from the public eye to focus my energies where I need to.”

The allegations emerged when a TikTok user, known as joozyb, shared her account on the platform. “I got sexually assaulted by Joe Gatto, the ‘Impractical Joker,'” she claimed in her video.

According to her account, the alleged incident occurred in Milwaukee during September 2023, following one of Gatto’s performances. The TikToker shared evidence of their interaction, including Instagram direct messages where Gatto allegedly arranged meet-and-greet passes, along with a backstage photo featuring herself, her sister, and the comedian.

She described subsequent communications becoming uncomfortable, claiming Gatto switched their conversation to vanish mode before sharing his accommodation details. The TikToker expressed her long-held desire to speak out, noting the challenges of making allegations against a public figure.

This controversy follows Gatto’s departure from “Impractical Jokers” in 2021, when he stepped away from the successful prank show to address personal matters. At that time, he announced on Instagram: “Alongside my friends, I’ve devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn’t be prouder of what has been accomplished. However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away. Bessy and I have decided to amicably part ways, so now I need to focus on being the best father and co-parent to our two incredible kids.”

By September 2023, Gatto and his wife Bessy, parents to Milana and Remington “Remo,” had decided to reconcile their marriage.
