Trump: ‘Left-Wing Lunatics’ Eyeing Lockdowns To Interfere With Election

Daily Report August 31,2023

Former President Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that “left-wing lunatics” are trying to back Covid lockdowns to interfere with the 2024 presidential election.
In a video posted to X, Trump accused the left of wanting to restart COVID hysteria to justify lockdowns.

“The left-wing lunatics are trying very hard to bring back COVID lockdowns and mandates with all of their sudden fear-mongering about the new variants that are coming. Gee-whiz, you know what else is coming? An election,” Trump said. “They want to restart the COVID hysteria so they can justify more lockdowns, more censorship, more illegal drop boxes, more mail-in ballots, and trillions of dollars in payoffs to their political allies heading into the 2024 election. Does that sound familiar?”

Trump, who blamed his 2020 election loss on massive mail-in ballots during the pandemic, described those who would see COVID mandates restored as “bad” and “sick” people.
“But to every COVID tyrant who wants to take away our freedom, hear these words: we will not comply. So don’t even think about it,” Trump added. “We will not shut down our schools. We will not accept your lockdowns. We will not abide by your mask mandates, and we will not tolerate your vaccine mandates.”
Trump, who previously claimed that the 2020 election was stolen from him due to widespread voter fraud, accused the left of wanting to bring back COVID mandates to rig the next election.

Trump maintained that any attempt to bring back the COVID mandates in attempts to rig the election would fail. The 2024 Republican hopeful promised that he would defund any school, college, airline, or public transportation system that imposes a mask or vaccine mandate as president.
Trump’s warning comes amid the recent widespread COVID panic that has seen schools, companies and hospitals around the country resume mask mandates. The newly discovered EG.5 and BA 2.86 COVID-19 variants have largely driven the new COVID panic, with rising hospitalization. Those Hospitalizations are, however, still at a historic low.
President Joe Biden revealed last week that he plans to ask Congress for more money to develop a new vaccine. The president added that he intends to make the vaccine mandatory for everyone regardless of their vaccination status.
