Dem Tester Encourages BIDEN TO DROPOUP

Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., became the second Senate Democrat to call on President Biden to withdraw from the presidential contest on Thursday night, with the support of Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

“I take seriously the duty that Montanans have placed in me to uphold moral principles.” In a statement to Fox News Digital, he added, “I have worked with President Biden when it has strengthened Montana, and I’ve never been reluctant to speak up to him when he is wrong. And while I appreciate his commitment to public service and our country, I believe President Biden should not seek re-election to another term.”

Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from New York, was informed in advance of Tester’s proposal. According to a person with knowledge of the matter who spoke with Fox News Digital, Schumer then instructed him to act in his own best judgment. The senator from Montana is seeking to retain his seat in a state that has voted twice in favor of the outgoing president Trump in one of the most contested contests of 2024.

The Cook Political Report, an impartial political handicapper, has given Tester’s race a “Toss Up” rating. In the same category are three other competitive races from Michigan, Nevada, and Ohio.

In November, he will take on former Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy, the Republican Senate candidate in Montana.

The senator recently claimed to Fox News Digital that he was “kicking his ass,” according to internal polls, but he did not provide the results. Additionally, he rejected the notion that his race was competitive, asserting, “My race isn’t in a precarious place.”

Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vermont, was the first Democrat in the upper house to urge Biden to withdraw earlier this month. “I’m calling on President Biden to withdraw from the race for the good of the country,” he wrote in a Washington Post opinion piece.

Tester joins Reps. as the 22nd Congressional Democrat to urge Biden to resign. Californian Adam Schiff, Oregonian Earl Blumenauer, and Hawaiian Ed Case These people are from Minnesota: Angie Craig, from Texas; Lloyd Doggett; Raul Grijalva; Jim Himes; Connecticut; Mike Levin; California; Seth Moulton; Massachusetts; Scott Peters; Colorado; Brittany Pettersen; Illinois; Mike Quigley; New York; Pat Ryan; Illinois; Brad Schneider; Michigan; Hillary Scholten; New Jersey; Adam Smith; Washington; Eric Sorensen; Illinois; and Greg Stanton, from Arizona.

Senior Biden campaign aides recently attended a special meeting between Senate Democrats and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). Interestingly, Tester skipped the meeting. Instead, he told Fox News Digital that he was meeting with Northrop Grumman, an aerospace and defense business, to talk about the “Sentinel project,” most likely referring to the company’s work on the LGM-35A Sentinel weapon system used by the US Air Force.

Senators who were Democrats stated that they remained concerned after the meeting. “A few of my worries have been answered.” Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., clarified afterwards, “Some others have been deepened.” Tester said, “President Biden has to prove to the American people – including me – that he’s up to the job for another four years,” just over a week after Biden’s dismal performance in last month’s debate versus Trump.

Just ten days after making his initial comments challenging the president to prove himself, he is now calling on Biden to withdraw from the race.
