Simone Biles Earns Silver On Floor Exercise And Misses Medaling On Beam

Daily Report August 05,2024

Simone Biles displayed her unsurpassable gymnastics prowess after a reportedly tough day at the Paris Olympic Games.

After Biles fell in her beam routine to miss out on a medal for the first time at the Paris Games, being out of bounds cost her the silver medal on floor.

Biles was seen struggling with double touchdowns in her floor exercise during warmups, but she still managed to score a 14.133 even though she stepped out of bounds twice. While an admirable score, it fell short of Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade who clinched her first gold medal in the Games with a 14.166.

Biles finished a mere. 033 points behind Andrade. The first review of Biles’ routine involved bumping the difficulty value of her routine from a C-start to D, and that acted as an upward adjustment for where she finished.

The second-place finish adds to Biles’ storied Olympic production, upping her lifetime total of medals at the Games to 11. Right off the bat was her silver in the floor followed by golds with Team USA, individual all-around title, and vault event at these Games.

Biles now has four world all-around titles in her pocket and is still considered the best gymnast of all time.
