Democrats Choose Gang Members Over American Safety
In a move that surprises absolutely no one who’s been paying attention, Senate Democrats just failed in their latest attempt to handcuff the Trump administration’s efforts to deport dangerous individuals to El Salvador. Led by Virginia Democrat Tim Kaine, these lawmakers were essentially demanding that deportations stop until the administration produces a “human rights report” – a transparent delaying tactic designed to keep criminal aliens in American communities.
The resolution, which thankfully failed by a 45-50 vote, would have frozen foreign assistance to El Salvador if the Trump administration didn’t bow to these ridiculous demands. Not a single Republican supported this nonsense, proving once again that only one party is serious about enforcing our immigration laws and protecting American citizens from criminal aliens who have no legal right to be here.
The Left’s Real Priority: Protecting Deportable Criminals
The resolution centered around cases like Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a suspected gang member that Maryland Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen is desperately trying to bring back to the United States. Let that sink in. While American families struggle with inflation, crime, and the consequences of unchecked illegal immigration, Senate Democrats are spending their time and your tax dollars trying to return deported gang members to American communities.
“Today Senator Kaine and 44 of his Senate colleagues took an important step to uphold transparency, accountability, and U.S. law. The Trump administration shipped vulnerable people at taxpayer expense, without any due process, to El Salvador, where they now languish in a prison notorious for torture and abuse.” – Human Rights First President and CEO Uzra Zeya.
Notice how they portray these deportees as “vulnerable people” rather than what many of them actually are – criminal aliens who entered our country illegally and then committed additional crimes against American citizens. The left’s priority is clear: put the rights of foreign lawbreakers above the safety and security of American citizens. Wyoming Republican Senator John Barrasso correctly called out Democrats for “defending illegal immigrant criminals” – because that’s exactly what they’re doing.
Kaine’s Outrageous Foreign Interference
Perhaps the most astounding aspect of this entire charade was Tim Kaine’s decision to directly address the government of El Salvador in Spanish during his Senate floor speech. This wasn’t just political theater – it was an attempt to undermine America’s diplomatic relationship with a sovereign nation that’s actually cooperating with us on immigration enforcement.
“You might think it’s cute right now to grab attention by a bromance with President Donald Trump. He’s going to be a president for poco más (a short time) – tres años más (three more years).” – Tim Kaine.
The arrogance is breathtaking. Kaine is essentially threatening El Salvador that their cooperation with Trump today will lead to punishment from Democrats later. This is exactly the kind of foreign interference that Democrats claim to oppose – except, apparently, when they’re the ones doing it. The resolution was co-sponsored by the usual suspects – Schumer, Van Hollen, and Padilla – all Democrats who have consistently prioritized illegal immigrants over American citizens and legal immigrants who followed the rules.
A Victory for Common Sense and Rule of Law
Thankfully, the Senate rejected this transparent attempt to hamstring immigration enforcement. While Democrats continue their obsession with protecting gang members and criminal aliens from deportation, the Trump administration is focused on making American communities safer by removing those who have no legal right to be here, especially those who pose a danger to public safety.
“This information is critical at a time when the Trump administration has admitted to wrongfully deporting people to El Salvador, and after Trump has said he’s also looking for ways to deport American citizens to the same terrible prisons.” – Virginia Democratic Senator Tim Kaine.
Notice Kaine’s shameless fear-mongering about deporting American citizens – a claim with zero evidence behind it. This is the desperate rhetoric Democrats resort to when they can’t win on the actual merits of their argument. The American people aren’t buying it. They want secure borders, enforced immigration laws, and the removal of criminal aliens who threaten our communities. Today’s vote was a win for exactly that – common sense and the rule of law.
