Rep. Comer Revelation Spells Trouble For President Joe Biden

Daily Report September 08,2023

House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) made a revelation on Thursday night that could mean big trouble for President Joe Biden.

The GOP lawmaker told Newsmax TV’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight” that he believes he has the House votes necessary to launch an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.

“I do believe that we have the votes for impeachment inquiry,” Comer told host Rob Schmitt. “I think that with the revelation of all these emails, you know that Joe Biden was communicating with Hunter Biden about his business about all of the corruption that he was involved in. I think that was the straw that broke the camel’s back with a few of the Republicans that were a little nervous about going the route of impeachment inquiry. They realized that we need this tool to be able to win in court because that’s where we’re headed. We’ve just about picked all the low-hanging fruit.”

Comer added that House Republicans’ decision to conduct an investigation into the Biden family’s alleged corruption surprised the family’s lawyers. Comer revealed that the lawyers thought his committee would have subpoenaed Hunter Biden before their investigation.

“We have, I guess, surprised the Biden legal team by the route we went,” Comer continued. I think they thought we would start on day one in subpoenaing Hunter Biden. If we had done that, it would have been locked up in court and any request we have, they would have said there is pending litigation. They would have run the clock out. But we got the shell companies. We got the bank records of the shell companies. So, we built a case that would win in court.”

Comer revealed that the House will hold a vote on a potential Biden impeachment inquiry this September. The lawmaker, however, admitted that it was up to House Speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy to bring the vote to the House floor.

“This is all up to Kevin McCarthy, but he and I’ve had several conversations,” Comer added. “I know Jim Jordan has spoken with him many times as well. I would predict that in the middle of September, we have a vote. I will predict that it passes, and I will predict that we will use that with all these government agencies that are refusing to turn over valuable information like the National Archives.”
