More Democrats Publicly Announce For Biden to Step Aside

Democratic Party Daily Report July 08,2024

Representative Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Joe Morelle (D-N.Y.), Adam Smith (D-WA), and Mark Takano (D-CA) are the latest Democrats calling for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 Presidential Election.

Three of the Democrats raised their concerns while participating in a House Democratic caucus call on Sunday that sought to pull Biden off the political ledge after questions emerged about whether he can win in November.

They are the latest House Democrats to raise concerns about Biden’s outlook for a second term amid an underwhelming performance during the initial presidential debate with former President Donald Trump.

Not a single Democratic leader in Congress has yet demanded that Biden resign, but many predict that Biden will suffer without the support of these top Democrats, who carry weight in the party.

Biden, 81, has faced increasing scrutiny of his age and shaky debate performances prompting his operation to go into full damage control mode in an effort to bring Democrats together on behalf of this 2024 White House bid.

In an effort of damage control, Biden agreed to be interviewed with ABC News this past Friday, but his performance simply wasn’t enough for the public to forget the debate disaster.

Even as House Democrats have called on Biden to get out, he has said over and over that he’s sticking with the program. Nine House Democrats have issued warnings about their incumbent, but some are coming to his defense and endorsing him for the first time.

Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), who is 85, drew a standing ovation by declaring, “People say Joe Biden’s too old. Hell, I’m older than Biden!”
