Meghan Markle Was Reportedly Shocked At The Inequality Between The Royal Brothers

Daily Report August 12,2024

Meghan Markle reveals that she felt Prince Harry “deserved more materially” than he got from the royals.

Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, was introduced to the Prince and Princess of Wales in January 2017 at Kensington Palace.

According to royal correspondent and author Robert Jobson, the Duchess was instantly “taken aback” by inequality between the brothers.

According to a biography released this year that delves into the reasons for Meghan and Harry leaving royal duties, Jobson is quoted as saying: “It is understood that when Meghan and Harry had gone round to have drinks at William and Catherine’s apartment, while they were still living at Nottingham Cottage opposite, Meghan had been ‘taken aback’ at the disparity between the brothers.”

A close source said: “‘I am not saying Meghan was jealous, but she was really surprised how lavishly Harry’s brother was living compared to where they were living.’”

Harry, now 39 and living at Nottingham Cottage – a small property on the Kensington Palace estate – would have been given his grandmother’s permission should he decide to pop the question to Markle.

Meanwhile, the Waleses were living in a 20-room Apartment 1A — their London home since 2011.

In fact Harry himself spoke about the awkwardness of bringing Meghan, now 43, to Nottingham Cottage in his 2023 memoir “Spare,” where he admitted it made him feel “embarrassed.”

Following their wedding in 2018, the couple relocated to Frogmore Cottage — where they were forced to hand over the keys after stepping back as senior royals in 2020.

Jobson says William was worried about how quickly Harry’s relationship with Meghan had progressed and went so far as to forbid the Duchess from wearing Princess Diana’s jewelry at their nuptials.

It is known that the future king asked aides to assure Markle was not to be handed any of Diana’s jewelry – an exception made for his wife, Catherine, because she has a higher rank.
