After Joe Biden’s debate, the one constant was Jill Biden and her faith in being able to back him up.
“You answered every question!” she declared to her husband. But, that’s not how the rest of the world perceived the current president’s debate performance. The debate was held on June 27, 2024 at the CNN Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
Over the last few months, First Lady Jill Biden has been standing right beside her husband. She dined with French President Emmanuel Macron as Joe Biden hobnobbed with Brigitte Macron. She has also been seen around East Hampton at various events.
Despite all her effort, there are others who wonder whether she can walk the tightrope of being a supportive wife and trying to make her husband look like he represents more than just one set of interests. There have also been questions about whether Jill Biden has too much influence over her husband after she reportedly said last year that he was running for re-election.
Meanwhile, both sides have expressed concerns that his frail health prevents President Biden from coping with late night events – like a debate. His campaign first blamed a cold for his St. Louis show, followed later by saying he was “at peak most of the day” in perpetuity.
Despite Jill Biden having maintained her support for Joe, many now believe that he is no longer capable of running the country for the next four years.
Several clips of Joe Biden circulating around the internet looking lost and confused have only added to this speculation.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Inquirer editorial board urged former President Trump to withdraw following his debate against then-President Biden because he couldn’t stop lying.
Biden is now considered a weak candidate for the Democratic Party and one instance of bad scandal away from being dethroned.
The debate wound up drawing mixed reactions – praise and scorn by both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
