Items Recovered In Second Trump Assassin’s House – Breaking News

Daily Report September 18,2024

FBI agents raided the Hawaii bungalow of Ryan Wesley Routh, the man accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump, revealing a cluttered and well-worn home adorned with island-themed décor.

The raid occurred early Tuesday morning, with federal agents searching the small, bright blue bungalow in Kaaawa on the island of Oahu, where Routh lives with his girlfriend. The modest home, valued at around $890,000, displayed signs of everyday living, with the living room stacked with boxes of power tools and kitchen utensils. Outside on the patio, agents found mismatched furniture, boxes, rugs, and even a ping-pong table resting on a dining room table.

Federal agents stormed into the residence around 6 a.m. and remained on-site until 1 p.m., leaving with boxes and bags of evidence. Routh’s white pickup truck, parked outside, also came under scrutiny. The truck, decorated with a Biden-Harris sticker, was filled with construction equipment, dirt, and parking tickets.

Routh’s neighbors seemed unaware of the gravity of the situation. “I saw her on Friday. It didn’t seem like she was bothered with anything,” said Roy Correa, 58, referring to Routh’s girlfriend, Kathleen. Correa, a fishing buddy of Routh’s, expressed disbelief at the news. “I don’t even know if she knew what was going on,” he added.

The FBI raid comes in the aftermath of an alleged assassination attempt on Trump at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15, 2024. Routh, 58, reportedly came within 300 to 500 yards of the former president, armed with an AK-47 and a GoPro camera, presumably to record the attack. A Secret Service agent thwarted the attempt by firing on Routh as he positioned his gun through a fence. The suspect fled and was arrested shortly after on I-95.

Though Routh has long supported progressive causes and donated to Democratic candidates, those who knew him were stunned by his alleged involvement in the assassination plot. “Ryan was quiet, but if you needed his help, he was right there for you,” Correa shared. “He never talked about politics or guns. I can’t believe this happened. To me, he was straight up. If you needed help, he helped you.” Correa added that if he could talk to Routh now, he would ask, “Ryan, what the f—k were you thinking?”

Routh’s girlfriend, Kathleen, who works at a local hardware store, was not seen on the day of the raid. Routh remains in custody in Florida, where he was arrested following the assassination attempt. Although he didn’t manage to fire any shots, the former president was just 300 yards away from the armed suspect.

Originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, Routh worked as a handyman and roofer before moving to Hawaii in 2018. There, he launched a business building miniature homes as affordable housing for low-income residents. Despite this background, Routh’s motivations in the assassination attempt remain unclear. He has a history of bizarre behavior, including virulent anti-Trump posts despite voting for him in 2016. In one of his rambling online writings, Routh even suggested that Iran should assassinate Trump.

His criminal record includes a 2002 standoff with North Carolina police, after which he was convicted of carrying a “weapon of mass destruction.” Routh also became a fervent supporter of Ukraine during its war with Russia, attempting (and failing) to recruit foreign soldiers to join the fight.
