The IDF and Israel Security Agency released a joint statement confirming: “In the past week (Wednesday), the IAF conducted an IDF and ISA intelligence-based strike to eliminate the terrorist Khalid Abu Daqqa, Commander of the Islamic Jihad’s Rocket Unit. Khalid Abu Daqqa was operating inside the Humanitarian Area in Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.”

The military operation targeted Abu Daqqa, who had orchestrated numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians and military personnel, both during and after the October 7 assault. The strike was executed with careful consideration for civilian safety, employing precise weaponry, intelligence gathering, and aerial monitoring.

The joint statement emphasized their ongoing commitment: “The IDF and ISA will continue to target anyone who took part in terror activities against Israeli civilians and to achieve the goals of the war.”

Reports from Israel’s Army radio indicated that the operation also resulted in the deaths of five additional terrorists. The incident highlighted the ongoing issue of Palestinian militants exploiting humanitarian zones, hospitals, and educational facilities for their operations.
