Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) described the latest indictment against former President Donald Trump as part of the Democrat’s efforts to stay in power.
Hawley told Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” that Trump’s latest indictment is part of the Democrat party’s nationwide effort to prosecute anyone criticizing them.
“What this (Trump indictment) tells me is that this is the latest effort to keep the ruling party in power, Laura. That’s what this is about. This is indictment like what, number 200?” Hawley said. “There may be more indictments to come and what’s clear about this is — this is an effort by the ruling party, the Democrat Party, across states, in the federal government, to make sure that anyone who criticizes them gets indicted.”
The GOP lawmaker added that Democrats are also targeting religious bodies, parents and peaceful protesters who go against them.
This latest “indictment” is a message from the liberal globalist elites: don’t mess with us. Don’t challenge their Forever Wars, don’t challenge their sellout to China, don’t challenge their giveaway of our jobs – or they’ll come for you pic.twitter.com/OtjFTzmHOP

“Although they’re focused on Trump, It’s also Catholics who have had their parishes infiltrated. It’s also pro-life demonstrators who had SWAT team sent to their doors. It’s also those who have protested peacefully that the FBI show up and knock out their doors. It’s parents who got the school board meetings and now been labeled domestic terrorists by the Biden administration. And the common thread is, if you challenge them, if you challenge the ruling party, the ruling elites, they will use the force of law against you.”

Trump was indicted for a fourth time on Monday after A grand jury in Georgia returned 10 indictments against the former president and 18 others, including Trump’s Trump’s White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
The indictments come following Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ investigation into Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
Trump’s latest indictment comes after Special Counsel Jack Smith secured an indictment for the president over the January 6 Capitol protest.
Smith also secured an indictment for Trump in his investigation into the former president’s handling of classified files.
