On Tuesday, Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) slammed former Rep. Paul Ryan (R), tagging him as a piece of garbage for his remarks on former President Donald Trump.
In a video posted on X by CNN’s Chief reporter Manu Raju, Nehls lashed out and said Ryan should be kicked out of the GOP for his disloyalty to Trump.

“Paul Ryan, you’re a piece of garbage. You’re a piece of garbage, and we should kick you out of the party. Don’t go spouting your mouth off and saying that you’re a conservative. You’re spitting in the face of the leader of our party. I mean, grow up a little bit,” Nehls told Raju. “For Paul Ryan to say he’s not voting for Donald Trump, that’s the problem with some of our Republicans. It’s guys like that.”
Nehls’ remarks came in response to Ryan’s earlier comments on Fox News “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” where he claimed Trump is unfit for office and vowed not to vote for him in November.
“I voted for him in 2016, hoping that there was going to be a different kind of person in office. I do think character is a really important issue if you put yourself above the Constitution, as he had done,” Ryan said.
Ryan claimed the January 6 protest was part of his decision not to support Trump. However, it seemed the former lawmaker was just making excuses in a desperate attempt to distance himself from the former president.
“I think it really just is character at the end of the day. And the fact that if you’re willing to put yourself above the Constitution, an oath you swear when you take office, federal office,” He said. “Whether it’s president or a member of Congress, you swear an oath to the Constitution, and if you’re willing to suborn it to yourself, I think that makes you unfit for office.”
Ryan’s comments about Trump on Tuesday was not the first time he has criticized the former president. Last month, the former lawmaker criticized Trump, stating he would not support his reelection bid. Instead, he would be voting for another Republican.
