As if running multiple companies wasn’t enough, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, has at least 12, perhaps as many as 14 children.
Half of the $210-billion mogul’s children were born in the last five years.
Zilis is the mother of three of Musk’s children, Canadian pop star Grimes has had three, and his ex-wife Justine Wilson gave birth to five.
A vocal ‘pronatalist,’ even in his early 50s, Musk has warned against population decline and once quipped, “I’m contributing to the underpopulation crisis as hard as I can.”
World fertility rates are falling dramatically and population growth may end this century; the human population is taught to understand that the 10 billionth baby, at this rate, will be born by the end of the next century.
He has twins Griffin and Vivian from his first wife, Justine Wilson, who lost her first son, Nevada, to a fatal case of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in 2002.
According to Bloomberg, in an email exchange with the father of an 18-year-old boy who died in a Tesla crash last year, Musk had written: “There is nothing worse than losing a child. My firstborn son died in my arms. I felt his heartbeat.”
In 2022, one of Musk’s children, Vivian, publicly announced that they are transgender and legally changed their name from Xavier Musk to a new name used with their mother’s surname.
Musk and Wilson had triplets boys, Kai, Saxon and Damian in 2006, from in vitro fertilization (IVF) which comes after the twins born in 2004 around five years later. The couple divorced in 2008.
He then married actress Talulah Riley in 2010. The couple divorced in 2012 and married again in 2013, before getting divorced for the second time in 2016 as they didn’t have any children.
The singer of ‘Oblivion’ was firstborn as the baby mother of X Æ A-Xii in May 2020 by Musk. Their daughter Exa Dark Sideræl was born via surrogate in December 2021. X Æ A-Xii, previously known as X Æ A-12, had to legally change his name in accordance with California state birth certificate statutes.
Musk and Grimes split in September 2021, but they soon got back together during the birth of their child. By September of the next year, their third child was born, a son called Techno Mechanicus, who went by “Tau.”
In an X post, punk-pop star Grimes (real name Claire Elise Boucher) shared,“I wish I could show u how cute little Techno is but my priority rn is keeping my babies out of the public eye.”
Musk and Shivon Zilis welcomed twins Strider and Azure through in vitro fertilization in 2021. As Business Insider reported in 2022, the parents filed a case in Texas and asked for the children to “have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name.”
The pair welcomed their third child — whose name was not released — sometime earlier this year, it was revealed on Saturday.
While the public only just learned of the baby’s birth, Musk told Page Six on Sunday that the child was no secret to their friends and family.
