Downed drones now treated as dangerous homeland threats

During a recent appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Faulkner Focus,” Belleville, New Jersey Mayor Michael Melham revealed new state protocols regarding drone incidents that suggest heightened security concerns.

According to Melham, he received updated guidance from state authorities while en route to the show. “On the way here, I was on the phone with my OEM team and we now have guidance coming from the state that instructs bomb squad and HAZMAT response for downed drones,” he explained.

When host Harris Faulkner sought clarification, asking if fallen objects should be treated as potential homeland security threats rather than typical aircraft incidents, Melham confirmed this assessment. “That is correct, because they’re not quite sure if there’s a payload or not, and that’s what we were told during our briefing on Wednesday,” he confirmed.

The mayor further suggested that these drones might be connected to high-level government operations, indicating they could be “government assets that are being deployed as a countermeasure.”
