Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday made a surprising prediction about his successor, President Joe Biden, in a town hall hosted by Fox News host Sean Hannity.
President Biden is widely expected to be the Democrat party’s presidential nominee for the 2024 election. With several polls showing Trump leading in the GOP primary field, the former president and his successor could most certainly set up a 2020 rematch in 2024. Trump, however, believes that the rematch will not happen.
Trump, while speaking at the Tuesday town hall event in Davenport, Iowa, said he doesn’t think Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee.
“I personally don’t think he makes it,” Trump said. Okay, I haven’t said that, I’m saving it for this big town hall. I personally don’t think so. I think he’s in bad shape physically. Remember when he said I’d like to take him behind the barn? If he took me behind the barn and I went like this [blows air ], I believe he would fall over. I believe he would fall over. I watched him at the beach. He wasn’t able to lift a beach chair which was meant for children. Mentally, I would say he’s possibly equally as bad and maybe worse.”
Trump, while referencing Joe Biden’s wish to fight him, maintained that he would have gotten a far different treatment if he had made the same wish.
“He could say that and everyone thought he was so cute. If I ever said it, They would say ‘he is a dictator. He’s a horrible human being.’ You know it’s a whole double standard we have and not only in the law, but just about everything else.”
Trump went on to predict that California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom will replace Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee. Other reports show that the Democrats are also considering Vice President Kamala Harris as Joe Biden’s replacement.
