Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis suggests Florida may kick President Joe Biden off its ballot in retaliation for Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows’ decision to remove former President Donald Trump from the state’s primary ballot.
DeSantis made the remarks in an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Your World” where he reacted to Bellows’ decision.
Every American should despise the lawfare being waged against Trump.
Every American should despise the efforts to remove Trump from ballots.
Every American should despise Trump filing ethics complaints to remove DeSantis from ballots.
Every American should realize that this…

“Well, obviously, to have one executive branch official unilaterally striking someone off the ballot is not an appropriate interpretation of the 14th Amendment,” DeSantis said. “We could have — in Florida, what, are we going to have Biden struck off the ballot because he’s allowed an invasion of 8 million people, including enemy nations have sent people in? This could just be — end up being a tit-for-tat.”
DeSantis, however, maintained that the U.S. Supreme Court will overturn Bellows’ decision.
“I think it’ll get reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court,” DeSantis said. “I think it’s more of a stunt that you have a very liberal person in that position who’s just trying to play for cheap clicks. But, ultimately, I don’t think it’s grounded in a proper interpretation of the Constitution.”
NEW: @RonDeSantis shows he’s the bigger man, defends Trump in the case of Trump being kicked off the ballot in Maine.
DeSantis isn’t petty — he does the right thing even when inconvenient.

Bellows’ decision comes after Colorado’s Supreme Court kicked Trump off the state ballot, citing the insurrection clause of the 14 Amendment. Following the Colorado decision, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told Fox News that Biden’s failure to protect the border could be considered a reason to kick him off Texas’ ballot.
“Seeing what happened in Colorado makes me think — except we believe in democracy in Texas — maybe we should take Joe Biden off the ballot in Texas for allowing 8 million people to cross the border since he’s been president, disrupting our state far more than anything anyone else has done in recent history,” Patrick told Fox News host Laura Ingraham Tuesday night.
Pennsylvania Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R)., Georgia Rep. Charlice Byrd (R) and Arizona Rep. Cory McGarr (R) are also drafting three bills in their respective states to get Biden off their ballots.
As Chair of the Georgia Freedom Caucus, I absolutely denounce the removal of President Trump from the Colorado ballot by their state Supreme Court. The politicization of the judiciary needs to end. pic.twitter.com/IHDaNWBQ0L

“We are joining forces to introduce legislation to REMOVE Joe Biden from the ballot in Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania,” the lawmakers told Breitbart News. “The absurdity of radical Democrat judges removing Donald Trump from the ballot in Colorado will be a stain on the American political system for decades. By their very own interpretation of the law, Joe Biden is 100% not eligible to run for political office. Democrats’ insane justification to remove Trump can just as easily be applied to Joe Biden for his ‘insurrection’ at the southern border and his alleged corrupt family business dealings with China.”
The three state lawmakers, however, insisted that the objective of their bill is to showcase the absurdity of Colorado’s decision and allow ALL candidates to be on the ballot in all states.
