Recent footage has sparked controversy as climate activist turned pro-Palestine advocate Greta Thunberg was captured joining in chants of “F**k Germany, F**k Israel!” during a demonstration.

The incident occurred during her speaking engagement at a pro-Palestinian gathering in Mannheim’s main market square, where the organization Zaytouna hosted discussions about Palestinian solidarity and climate activism.

The event drew sharp criticism from Conservative regional parliamentary party leader Manuel Hagel, who stated, “Mannheim does not need a platform for such dehumanizing positions and our country does not need the presence of people like Greta Thunberg.” He suggested Thunberg was deliberately positioning herself close to antisemitic sentiments.

Since Hamas’s October 7 attack, Thunberg has consistently voiced accusations of genocide against Israel, drawing criticism for what many perceive as a one-sided approach to the conflict.

This isn’t Thunberg’s first encounter with authorities over pro-Palestinian activism. Her involvement in these demonstrations led to her arrest at the University of Copenhagen in September, following her participation in a major anti-Israel protest earlier in May.

The Copenhagen incident saw approximately twenty protesters blocking the university entrance, resulting in six arrests. Among those detained was Thunberg, who was photographed being escorted to a police vehicle while wearing a keffiyeh scarf and in handcuffs.
