The White House found itself embroiled in another saga after reports emerged that President Joe Biden has canceled nearly 10 engagements since he announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.
According to the New York Post, a White House source revealed that Biden has canceled nine upcoming trips. The source noted that the cancellations began when he ended his campaign on Sunday. Biden, recently diagnosed with COVID-19, has been “self-isolating” in Rehoboth, Delaware.
The source added that the president was initially scheduled to depart from Delaware on Monday for trips to California, Denver, Colorado, and Houston and Austin, Texas. However, he decided to remain in Delaware until Wednesday.
“He was supposed to leave today to start the West Coast trip, but they extended his stay in Rehoboth until the 24th,” the source said.
With uncertainty surrounding Biden’s health, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician, released a letter on Monday detailing the president’s health status. O’Connor’s letter revealed that Biden completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID, a medication for COVID-19. The doctor revealed that Biden’s symptoms “have almost resolved completely.”

O’Connor also noted that Biden’s pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remain normal. The president’s lungs are clear and his respiration remains normal, according to the doctor. O’Connor revealed that the president has continued to perform all presidential duties.
This is the last time Joe Biden was seen. It was five days ago. Nobody knows where he is, what he’s doing, if he’s okay, or who is running the country at the moment.

The president’s health has been a major talking point since he dropped out of the race. Following Biden’s announcement on Sunday, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) called for his resignation. Mace argued that if the president cannot seek reelection due to cognitive issues, he must resign.
“If Joe Biden does not have the cognitive ability to seek reelection, he does not have the cognitive ability to serve the remainder of his term,” Mace wrote on X. “Tomorrow I will introduce a resolution calling on Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th amendment and assume the duties of acting President.”

“If Joe Biden does not have the cognitive ability to seek reelection, he does not have the cognitive ability to serve the remainder of his term. If he doesn’t resign, Kamala should invoke the 25th Amendment,” Mac wrote in another X post. “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander – for consistency…”
