A beauty queen was arrested for murder over an 18-month-old baby who died at a hospital in Georgia.

Trinity Madison Poague, 18, was arrested by officials from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) after the murder of an 18-month-old boy. Authorities charged Poague with “Aggravated Battery, Felony Murder and Cruelty to Children First Degree,” According to Breitbart News.

The GBI office reported that the toddler was rushed to Phoebe Sumter Hospital’s emergency room in Georgia. Reports showed the little child was in critical condition when he arrived at the hospital. The child, however, died despite the best efforts of doctors.

“Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” a representative from the GBI said. “They are working alongside Georgia Southwestern State University Police Department and the Americus Police Department on this case.”

Poague was taken into custody after multiple interviews and examining the evidence. They have not yet released any details about the cause of the toddler’s death or Poague’s relationship with the child.

Breitbart News reports that Poague is currently locked up at Sumter County Jail. According to jail records, she is not eligible to be released on bail.

According to Daily Mail, Poague is a Georgia Southwestern State University freshman. She is the current winner of the Miss Donalsonville 2023 pageant. She also competed in the Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant last year.

Poague is a member of the President Jimmy Carter Leadership Program. According to Donalsonville News, Poague was named “Miss Seminole” last year. The news outlet also posted a picture of her with other pageant winners, where she’s seen holding a young child on stage.
